WHAT HAPPENED AT WALL STREET IN FRIDAY’S TRADE:
# Wall Street enjoyed a strong session in Friday’s trade as the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq index surpassed their all-time record highs.
# The 3-biggest positive catalysts from Friday’s trade at Wall Street:
1) Growing expectations that the Federal Reserve may cut interest rates sooner than previously anticipated.
2) Optimism over pending trade agreements including a framework agreement with China.
3) Growing number of S&P 500 companies are issuing upbeat earnings guidance for the second quarter, buoyed by easing tariff pressures and reduced geopolitical uncertainty.
# The only negative catalyst: President Donald Trump said he is ending trade talks with Canada.
# As on Friday’s close, the Dow Jones gained 1% at 43819, the S&P 500 rose 0.5% to 6173, and the Nasdaq Composite had gained 0.5% to 20273.
# Gold prices ($3265 per ounce) are wavering and trading way below the psychological 3300 mark.
# WTI crude oil futures are trading steady near the $64.65 per barrel.
STOCK MARKET NEWS:
# Its Monday, June 30th the last day of 1st half of calendar year FY25.
There is a bright chance that window-dressing on Dalal Street could catch spotlight for the day.
# Now, digging deeper, Nifty’s bullish up-moves have been a standout in last 4-trading sessions—but investors should now start taking notice of prevailing overbought technical conditions.
# Our call of the day suggests a choppy and volatile session as Nifty may aim for some gains but the gains are unlikely to be inspiring as has been witnessed in last 4-trading sessions.
# A bullish consolidation could be the preferred theme for benchmark Nifty.
# The 2-negative catalysts:
1) Friday’s released US May PCE Price Index report which were not constructive for near-term rate cuts by the Federal Reserve.
2) President Donald Trump said he is ending trade talks with Canada.
# The 2-positive catalysts:
1) In Friday’s session, FIIs turned out to be net buyers to the tune of Rupees 1397 crores.
2) The Indian trade team stays longer in the US to finalise deals before the Jul 9 deadline. Trump has said "a very big" deal with India was likely soon.
# The 2-big trading themes:
1) All eyes will be on the Indian trade team which is in the US to finalise deals before the Jul 9 deadline.
2) Focus will be also on the US NFP to trickle in this Thursday, July 3rd
# Amongst stock specific action:
1) Adani Enterprises advanced 2.23% after the company announced that its joint venture, AdaniConneX (ACX), has completed the acquisition of a 100% equity stake in Granthik Realtors (GRPL) from Windson Projects LLP.
2) Power Mech Projects rose 2.91% after the company secured Rs 159 crore solar power orders from Bihar State Power Generation Company (BSPGCL) under the PM-KUSUM C2 scheme for setting up grid-connected distributed solar plants in Bihar.
3) Ahmedabad-based Torrent Pharmaceuticals will acquire a controlling stake JB Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals at an equity valuation of ₹25,689 crore, which will be followed by the merger of the two entities. Torrent Pharma had gained 3.69% in Friday’s trade.
